SkillGap AI is an AI-powered skill gap analyzer built for the Innovex Hackathon. Users enter their current skills and target role, then receive a personalized report that explains where they stand, what they are missing, and what to learn next.
The project uses Google Gemini AI to turn a simple profile input into practical career guidance: match score, missing skills, a structured learning roadmap, and project ideas tailored to the user’s target role.

The core flow is designed to be direct and useful. A user adds their skills, chooses a target role, and receives an AI-generated breakdown that feels actionable instead of generic. The result helps learners identify gaps and move from uncertainty to a clearer next step.
Core Product Features
SkillGap AI generates a real skill gap report using Gemini 1.5 Flash, including a match score that shows how closely the user’s current skill set aligns with the selected role. The roadmap is ordered from foundational topics to more advanced learning steps.
The platform also suggests portfolio project ideas so users can turn learning into visible proof of ability, not just a list of topics to study.
Full-Stack Implementation
The app is built with React 18, TypeScript, and Vite on the front end, with Tailwind CSS and Framer Motion powering the liquid glass interface and responsive interactions. Radix UI and shadcn/ui provide accessible interface components.
Firebase Auth supports email/password and Google sign-in, while Firestore stores user profiles, including full name, target role, and LinkedIn URL. React Router v6 handles routing across the analyzer, results, dashboard, login, register, profile, and settings pages.
